What I am doing with my life: Building business and life on both coasts. Care to join me? Learning, reading, listening to music, appreciating how much life has given me and thinking about how much more I would like to accomplish and enjoy -- and that I would like to do all that with a great partner. My s, friends, and colleagues tell me I am an excellent listener. I'm also good at spotting and appreciating people's best qualities, and in my business I help people recognize and use them. People come to me with problems that need a quick solution and we get that accomplished. I'm empathetic, able to calm infants (don't worry, I don't have any but I do love them), as well as care for sick animals, and I don't have any of those any more, either. But they did live much longer than expected. The first things people usually notice about me: My red lips? My flashy pedicure? Honestly, I have no idea. My eyes? Perhaps my voice? People seem to like it. Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food: Staples include the New York Times, The Nation, The New Yorker and various assorted articles and such. Some fiction as well. Thank my book group for that! I'd rather be at a concert (jazz, blues, or rock and roll), at the ballet, or seeing a play than going to a movie. As far as food goes, I'm very enthusiastic about consuming it, less about preparing it. Some PBS TV shows get my attention as well as some stuff (junk) too. Recently I saw an episode of "Luther" on BBC America and liked that quite a bit. I spend a lot of time thinking about ways to help business understand the human species, aka making work more fun. Helping people shift from black-and-white thinking to more nuanced shades of gray. Turning set-backs into opportunities. And thinking about next, best way to contribute my skills in a way that will make a difference -- small or larger -- in the world. I would be interested to hear from you if you, like me, are a single professional who enjoys great conversation, good food, the relaxed vibe of the Bay Area as well as the buzz of big cities.
