 Lovely ~ such cheerful flowers Are they the Russian variety? I still have seeds for next season - very large heads with sturdy stems. Loved how they towered behind the six foot fence.

I'm not sure where these came from originally, but we got them at an old friend's memorial. She was a passionate gardener and her family came up with this idea of gifting all the guests with packets of her seeds and pots of flowers to plant as memorial gifts for her friends........

 I love sunflowers. Someone in my neighborhood planted a few of them and they are getting really tall. They should be blooming soon. I buy sunflower seeds all the time as they are good for you and I use them as added protein when I put them on my cereal in the morning.
