Timing can be everything, and you were right on time!
It's not about antique finds, but I once knew a fairly wealthy lady who had two children. (Her son married my sister) Her kids were always dressed in the BEST of everything.
She and I would occasionally visit in her home and she shared a few secrets with me. She hardly ever paid full price for anything. She would shop the best clothing stores in the city, two to four times a week, and watch for the mark-downs. She got acquainted with the clerks, and when the mark-downs began, she would go almost every day until what she wanted was down to the price she wanted to pay. Yes, for clothes, it was "off season" but by May or June, she had her kids wardrobes for the fall school year.
She said the way to have money was to work hard and spend wisely, which meant saving whenever you could. I think she believed her advice would work for me too, but our situation was a lot different. We had more kids and less money, and there was always an immedient need, so buying for the future was not practical for us.
But I now do like you did.... wait, and watch, and strike when the iron is hot for something I want.
Lovely pieces!

Wow you really got some amazing bargains. I don't usually like antiques but I really like that Asian bar and stools. I look forward to seeing pics of the Asian table and chairs and the coffee tables.

Hard to believe the price for quality wood pieces. You seem to be a real "collector" of many things. I admire your enthusiasm as I have spent the last few years divesting myself of things. I always looked forward to this time in life when I had the resources to pamper myself with things I previously wanted but could not afford but now that I am here I lost interest completely. Life is strange.

Very nice. I particularly like the curved marble top mahogany bar; interesting shape and soft on the eye.

You got a great bargain there, Ranger. It's a lovely piece of furniture. Nice bag of oranges on the floor, I see lol.
