Settling in and what's happening. May as well add a post before the site shuts down. I moved house mid October. My old property sold fast and for a great price, actually a crazy price, Got another one for the money that was reconditioned and a bit further out of town. It is open plan, has 3 bedrooms, ensuite, 2 garages, remote door on main one, 2nd garage has a long carport out the front of it, (it's a corner block) a rumpus room, sides and rear of the house is alfresco style, a pergola area also for outside entertaining beside the rumpus room, a cubby house, security shutters, 3 lots of irrigation systems for watering, a dishwasher (never had one before) white polished stone bench top, great stove. The air con is amazing, works great, security gate, it's less than a 5 minute walk to a shopping center and the area is quiet and a park nearby. Couldn't ask for more. Even though it's smaller than my last property by over 100 square meters it's still a good size and it's subdivisable. The agent showed me it's been approved and a plan if ever I wanted to but I don't want to. It's a short walk to several coffee shops, a hotel, a couple of churches nearby also. There's a major shopping center only 5 minutes drive and a hospital near it too. But the main reason I got it is that it's a 2 minute drive to my eldest 's house. I can be close to the grand . It was 78 days from advertising the old property to moving into a new house. I couldn't believe it. I've had the family over many times already, they love it. My daugthers often cook something and bring it over to have here (we cook here too). We had Christmas here and it was great. Also my middle who is married to a pastor just had a baby girl 10 days ago and brought her along. Still sorting out stuff to get rid of, have to do a double downsize and it's great to get rid of stuff and be freed up. The men's group I started (Just Blokes) has been running since March 2019 and at the moment has a regular attendance of around 22 but has sometimes got to 29. For Christmas events we've had up to 120 as the members bring family along. We've even had some motorcycles groups come into the church hall one time with their motorbikes in the hall and do a talk on their bike and why they bought it etc. That was an interesting night. One of the guys has the group on facebook now (I don't do facebokk myself). The group is growing each year. We started with 9, then 17 was a regular number for a while and now it's even more. Hermit, I totally understand being near family. My daughter is about 4 minutes from me, if I hurry..... but normally just sort of drift along, since it's through the country and critters love to dart onto the road at any surprising time. Another daughter is is just a couple miles further, and a son and a daughter live about 10 miles from me. It's what keeps me here, even though I don't like the winter weather anymore. Oh, and I've lived on this 3 acres of land for 51 years. I plan to be here until Jesus comes for me. If you ever decide to go to face book, there is an SFF group there, and several of us are there. We don't do a lot in the group itself, but we keep in touch with each other on our pages or in messenger. May the Lord continue to bless you abundantly in all areas. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Hermit, I totally understand being near family. My daughter is about 4 minutes from me, if I hurry..... but normally just sort of drift along, since it's through the country and critters love to dart onto the road at any surprising time. Another daughter is is just a couple miles further, and a son and a daughter live about 10 miles from me. It's what keeps me here, even though I don't like the winter weather anymore. Congrats on the new place. My son is visiting from NY. The rest of my immediate family lives in NC. We had a great Christmas this year ! OMG so much food !!!!!!
