Oz is a country of either drought or flood, can relate. Hang in there you guys. And you are right about the work. lol

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

Sounds like home Hermit, not really complaining about the rain, we needed it, just not all at once. The lakes are full once again and our area is no longer in a drought situation.

Hope you have taken enough precaution for your safety, Nile. Rain will surely clean all the accumulated dirt . Have a nice week.

Yep Mary Ann, it is bizarre! We are over the drought here, for now, so not complaining. There will be a break in the storms starting Monday, that will give me a chance to get the field mowed, that is if it dries enough to drive the tractor on it. I have a new pond in front of the house now, it wasn't there a month ago, but the rains have washed a lot of mud into the culvert and blocked it, so the water had no other place to go. Another chore added to my list, so glad I have the tractor to dig it out.

Hi Looklook, no worries here, I don't live near any waterways. As far as dirt, it's been washed quite well, so well that it's turned to mud.

The thought of an Ark has crossed my mind, lol, but so far so good, nothing serious here.

Yes it is sad that some people have died because of the flooding, really sad.

I'm not too worried about slipping in the mud as much as I am getting my boots sucked off my feet! That has happened before, wasn't funny then, but it is now.

Flooding is a serious matter. I'm glad you're alright, Rae. Last year we were going out to dinner for my sister's birthday. There was flooding that began after we started driving. Our car was swimming in the water practically. It was scary. I told my sister it reminded me of a flood we had in Montreal when I was living there in the 80s. My sister was in Vancouver on business. I was at my job and they cut off all transportation after I took the subway, due to the flooding. I couldn't get home. I walked and walked and it got dark and I was alone.

My feet got wet and eventually I found a company that was opened. I quickly sized up the situation and spoke to a girl that looked safe to me. We spoke and she said they were all going to spend the night there at work. She explained that there was no way she could get home because she lived where the flooding was the worst hit. I made her an offer she couldn't refuse and lucky for me, she didn't. I said that if she could drive me home, she could sleep over at my house. I said she could call her parents from my home , as she told me they were worried about her. She accepted and she got me home. My parents gave her a warm place to sleep, a comfortable bed and food to eat. She called her parents who were relieved she was fine. She left the next day and sent us a lovely bouquet of flowers, which she didn't have to do but was so sweet of her.

Sorry for rambling on but when I think of floods, I think of her.

Yes Elaine, it's very serious as well as dangerous, and thank you for sharing your experience with me/us. Both of you were very lucky that night!

Thank you Lyn, I am constantly monitoring the radar to keep everyone as safe as I can. Example: Tornadoes and flash flooding, I call them and give them a heads up.......me? I am ready to run if one is heading in my direction, last night, there was nowhere to run, as you could see by the map.
