WOULD YOU DATE A YOUNGER PERSON? Let's say you were single and a younger person was genuinely interested in you. In this scenario, it would be that they really like you not to have a sugar daddy/mommy. Would you date them and how much younger a person would you be willing to date? Before I met my boyfriend, I had a 10 year rule. I dated men +/- 10 years from my age. I did bend the rules once (a woman has to be flexible lol) to date a guy 13 years younger. What about you? I won't argue about your last point. Thanks for your comment, Dan. I have to admit that the guy 13 years younger, though very intelligent and successful, felt too young for me. There was a guy that was 10 years younger and we never felt an age gap, at least I know I didn't. Elaine Shuel

We don't have to understand, to understand. But it's a requirement to not understand, to not understand. commonality of thought, of events, of history and upbringing are all automatic understandings. Age is an automatic understanding. it's easier, but certainly no guarantee of understanding. Where do we draw the line? Does someone really need to understand to understand us? Take it all away and it just people understanding people. We all grow and some don't grow very much, but no matter your age. Some of a younger or older age can still understand you and respect you, and respect the way you think. Granted, that person is hard to find, but it is not age defining. When it comes down to it, the older person is the one, that blows it up, that can't deal with it. The older person just can't see, what the younger person could possibly see in them. Just can't imagine the future. So I guess ten years is a good number. but, then again... it's just a number!

Interesting answer, RosesLady. Thank you. I think that some of us might still care about whether he is good in bed or not (lol). but I get your point. Elaine Shuel

That was an enjoyable read, ranger. Thank you. You're very welcome. Why didn't you marry her? Did it have to do with her being younger than your daughter? Elaine Shuel

More than age, I would tend to give greater consideration to distance. But since your topic is age, I would say that give or take 10 years either way would work for me. It's really all about the fellow's attitudes, intelligence, and social skills. .

Puzzles, I understand that way of thinking. Intelligent men turn me on too. It would be very dull being with an ignorant man. It is best to be alone than without a guy one could discuss things with. Of course, some might feel differently. To each their own. Thanks for your comment. Elaine Shuel

No, because I don't want to be castrated by the wife I already have. Fossil Elaine Shuel

You got Joe, which turned out to be not only more than you bargained for but also better. Glad it worked out for you, Pat. Elaine Shuel

Cute about the menopause remark. I think it depends on the guy, as far as being about to have great conversations and as far as being close to their families. Dating men your own age is a personal choice. Thanks for your comment, Roxy. Elaine Shuel
