Fair comment. I think immigrants have an obligation to their host country to assimilate although immediate assimilation [alien culture] shouldn't be expected.

What you think we don't fight like hell, to keep America the way it suppose to be. That's all we ever do. It's why I fight you too! Your America ain't my America. You're absolutely right, Maisie. Immigrants are welcome in America as long as they don't try to change what we have. We welcome different cultures and opinions just as long as they don't try to change America into the places they ran away from. Bring on the restaurants, the beliefs, the culture.....but our official language is American English and we will not change it. What would John Wayne say if he heard "Press 1 for English"?

Excellent blog, Maisie. Joe's mother was from Italy and the kids still laugh at her fractured English, but she TRIED. They say she was so proud the day she became an American citizen! I worked with a foreign doctor. His family may have observed some of their original customs, but they dressed and acted American. He spoke pretty good English, just had an accent. I do not know if he ever became a citizen, but he grieved with us on 9-11, and celebrated our holidays with us. He carried a little American flag with him on July 4th, and sang "Happy Birthday" to the staff in the ER and nursing home. He appreciated all the opportunities the USA gave him, and he gave back with hard work and raising his children to be the same. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

big, It's a lot more than just learning to speak English. It's about taking over, it's about implementing your own culture and religion. there's a huge difference between defending oneself from being taken over, and offensively trying to take over. You happen to be offensive, as does Maisie with this blog.

You may not know what my point is..But, I know what your point is. Your point is always so overwhelming to you, you can't see anything else. You can't imagine anyone thinking and doing differently than the way you think and you do. I'm not against what you say..I'm against the way you say it and what you're trying to do with it. Now you want to paint La Raza, illegals, blacks, Hispanic and Liberal all a certain way..They simply all aren't that way. You say No no I'm not doing that...but in reality you are. So, Maisie, do you have the same ideas, the same voice, and the same doing about people like the... Aryan Republican Army, Army of God, Phineas Priesthood, and The Covenant, The Sword, and no the Arm of the Lord. I never hear you talk about them..Aren't they a problem too? They must not be your problem.. You're Christian, and your mentality is just like Muslims...Good people, who's religion, allows acceptance and denial of responsibility. That's why I disagree with them and that's why I disagree with you. We see things different, not only that we hear things different too. I hear the meaning behind words, you just hear your meaning. I see what other people do and why, you only see what you do and why. More importantly you think everyone is doing what you're doing. Saying things with the same purpose and design as you. I say Muslims and many Christian are alike. You say they can't be because Muslims behead people. Muslims, to you, are defined by what you see them doing. Muslims are defined by me, as to their religious beliefs, cultural beliefs, and governing beliefs. Beheading well, that bothers me too, but it means nothing without the other stuff. The purpose and design of the words is all the meaning one needs to understand to understand the meaning of the words. To me, many American Christians, have the same purposes and designs, they just use different words. It amazes me that I understand you perfectly and you can't understand me. It's seem it just works out better for you, if that becomes my fault and not yours.

You cannot see what I mean, because I'm not talking about politics "Nice to see you know so much about every single right or left wing faction that you can speak so definitively about them" I know nothing about them, first off I don't think of them as political. Those were the names given to me when I googled CHRISTIAN militant hate groups. They do bad things and use God's name to do it. Sound familiar? Those folks will praise what you say. You support them even if it's not your intention. All you have to do to understand me is stop political debating. My responses do not say anything about defending those you oppose. The fact is I oppose them too. I could say the same kind of thing to them that say to you. But I can only deal with one demon at a time.

People write for different reasons. You write like it's a debate, Your side of it. To win your side has to be right. you need to convince others your side is right. The wrong part of your side, well, just ignore that. It's not for you to say, it won't work if you just want to win the debate. I write for me, it puts my thought in orders. I don't have an agenda. I just like to know what I think. Yes I'm torn, torn in thought about things, writing mends that. My hope is that it sheds some light for others too. Deal With It.!

Maisie How sad is it that you feel the need to use Memorial Day to make a "political" point. It's offensive to all who have given their life for this country, and it's offensive to all those who disagree with you, that will make the ultimate sacrifice. The fact is, conservatives don't man the battlement, they live in a tower and give the orders.

Assimilate? Never! We are going to change you. The first step is ply you with ethnic cuisine. Once you crave tacos, pierogi, and curry half the task will be accomplished.
