Boshonto eshe geche (The Spring has arrived) Ah! Today, in spring, many flowers bloom. Many flutes play, and many birds sing. A tender flower, her heart, Withers away, unattended. Why draw near? Smile for no reason? The one who came close No longer wishes to approach. Those who are joyful remain in joy. Joyous spring, may it end in joy. May the tears of a woebegone woman Not be seen. Though they look, they do not see. Though they know, they do not understand. They do not even look back. It is spring now here in my homeland. I love spring. In Bengali, Spring is known as "Boshonto". It is the last of the six Bengali seasons. It will continue till mid-April. If you read the English translation of the song posted above, you will understand why we love this season so much. If you want to listen to the original Bengali version of the song, you may go to the net and look for " Aha, A Boshonte." This is a Tagore song.
