Just Two Steps! I traveled miles, for many a year I spent a lot in lands afar I’ve gone to see the mountains The oceans, I’ve been to view But I haven’t seen with these eyes Just two steps from my home lies On a sheaf of paddy grain A glistening drop of dew. The message communicated by the Bengali Nobel laureate poet R N Tagore in the above poem is true to many of us who had to visit various countries of the world either for business purposes or as a globe-trotter. Believe me, though I had the opportunity to travel from time to time, it never occurred to me to see many interesting objects in the small town where I grew up.

PERHAPS I AM ONE OF THE FEW PEOPLE WHO NEVER SAW ANYTHING VERY INTERESTING IN THE PLACE FROM WHERE I COME. IN FACT I HAVE FOUND SO MUCH MORE WHERE I LIVE NOW THAT I HAVE NO REGRETS.

Perhaps it takes seeing things away from home to make us appreciate what we do have close to us. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
