The Lake city of Dhaka at night

For Viewing pleasure!

Dhaka is the third most densely populated city in the world. It is also the largest city and the capital of Bangladesh. Dhaka is also known as the city of lakes. Viewers may see the photos of some of these lakes posted depicting night views of these lakes, none of which are taken by me. The top picture is the Parliament of Bangladesh. Designed by the world-famous American architect Louis I Kahn, it is one of the largest legislative complexes in the world.

The lights are beautiful and I love the reflections in the water!

A day without dance is .... just kidding. I have no idea!

Lovely.... I especially liked the last one. There is so much beauty in our world, but we need to look for it. The "news" certainly will not show it to us!

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Gorgeous, all of them!

Mrs. Joe was right, there is so much beauty in the world. If one would just take time to enjoy it and get off their tablet or phone..........

Pearls, thanks for your post. My country is a land of many rivers. These rivers look dotted with moving lighted lamps at night.

Mrs. Joe, you are absolutely right. Kindly permit me to add here that we can't enjoy such beauties in our one lifetime! Our parliament House was designed by the American Architect Louis I Kahn.

Shartaun, thanks for stopping by and for your post. The city of Dhaka, like many other cities of the world, does not sleep at night. "Indeed, the night itself has become more day-like" in this city! Be safe always.

Thank you so much for your post, Maudie. Just like London or New York, Dhaka night is unable to retain some of its mystery! Take care.

Rocket,
I grew up in a town that is still known as Venice of Bengal! I left the town in the year 1957 and got myself admitted to the University of Dhaka to obtain a post-graduate degree in Economics. I am now a permanent resident of Dhaka. Thanks for your post. Stay well. Be safe, dear friend,

Glad to see you back, dear Archer. I hope that the vacation was enjoyable and trouble-free. Dhaka is one of the oldest cities in Bangladesh. It was the declared capital of Mughul Bengal. But it was not a megacity at that time. The city is also known as the city of Mosques. You are right. I really feel happy living here. Stay cheerful and happy always.

Hiya LookLook, I had no idea that B.D. had so many Lakes. I like to take pics of architecture when I travel, or rather, travelled.
If I ever got to travel internationally again, B.D. will be on the list for sure.
Thanks for the great photos.

I am delighted to read from you here on this page after such a long time, RB. Bangladesh is home to the world's largest river delta, which is formed by the Brahmaputra, the Ganges, and the Meghna river. The lakes in Dhaka are located in the new Dhaka. The old part of Dhaka has no lake. Dhaka is densely populated. I shall be happy to welcome you here in Bangladesh if the occasion presents itself. Stay well and cheerful, my friend.
