Foto Friday - Letter H- Home.

Near Bay Leaf Tree- Our Home

Some of my SFF friends, from time to time, asked me to show them a photo of my home where I have been living after I retired from an active job.

The letter H has suddenly provided me with an opportunity to satisfy the desires of my friends. Here below a photo of the partial frontal view of the house where I live is posted for my interested friends to see.

As it will appear, the building is a Double-Storey one, almost surrounded by multi-storied buildings built on a private housing complex that was once entirely a family property.
But no longer. Some portion of the property now stands sold out. The building was built more than 40 years back for my wife when I was young and active.

I love to live here in this dwelling which is airy and strong enough to survive a normal natural catastrophe.

Happy Viewing

Looks like a nice place to live.

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

Lovely.
It's been a long time since I was in Dhaka, Had a trip planned last year but then Covid hit.
I know the city has drastically changed but I wonder where you are. I worked at a clinic at the Mohammedpur railway station (I think that's what it was called) and lived with my family in Dhanmundi and ultimately we were moved to Gulshan close to the US Marines barrack.
I hope you are having a great day.

I know how pleasing it is to live in your home for so many years, and it must be doubly pleasant to have built it.

Maudie, Thanks for your post. The home is no longer new. It is already 40 years old. We have moved into this house almost 36 years before this day. True, I like to live in this house. Stay happy and cheerful always,

TxJW,
I am really happy to read from you here after a long time. The architect of this building is a talented person. He inspired my daughter to be an architect whenever he used to visit us as a friend of the family. He did not charge me anything for the service he rendered! He passed a considerable period of his professional life as an architect of Robert Mugabe's Zimbabwean Government. My daughter is also an architect of repute. Thanks again for your comments. Stay well and safe.

Delighted to read from you here on my blog page, Buddie. Before I moved in to our own home, I used to live in the Dhanmandi residential area of Dhaka where you too also lived with your family while you worked at a clinic located in Mohammadpur. By any Chance did you live somewhere on Road Number 28 of Dhanmandi Residential Area? I presume, your Clinic could be located near Tejgaon Railway Station which is not far from either Mohammadpur or Dhanmondi R A, Road 28. Dhaka is a Mega City now. Too crowded. I am now located in Green Road area. It is located next to Dhanmondi Residential Area. Hope, it will be possible for you to visit Dhaka soon. Kindly do not fail to inform me before you take the flight for Dhaka. Thanks again, Buddie. Stay cheerful and happy.

Mrs.Joe,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment left here on my blog page. I know you two live in your own home. There could be no other better place to live in other than the home built by you. I am no different. Hope you are doing fine. Be safe and stay happy.

No, PearlsWthMyJeans , I did not physically build the building myself. It was simply impossible for me to do so. I was neither a building Engineer nor an Architect Lots of people of different profession were involved to finish the job. You seem to have taken the words of the blog literally! Actually, I provided finance to complete the project. I had to borrow interest bearing loans from a financial Institution where I worked as an executive to finance the building costs. The land on which the building was built is hereditary in nature. Take care of yourself. Stay happy and cheerful. Be safe.

Oh don't worry! I knew what you meant, Looklook. I wasn't picturing you out there with a saw and hammer! I was picturing you sitting with an architect and coming up with perfectly customized plans. Take care and have a wonderful day!

Pearls, I was sure that you were not picturing me out there on the construction site with a saw and hammer…lol! You are right about my Architect who was a family friend. He used to come to see the quality of the construction works from time to time. It is probably late morning now at your end. Have a pleasant day. Take care of yourself,

Hiya LookLook, That is a very nice house you have there. The building looks a lot like one I stayed in in Chennai, India in 2017. What is this ' H ' thing of which you speak? Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Ratboy, I am delighted to read from you here on this page. The Indian sub-continent is a tropical region of the planet earth. Those who live in this region like to build houses having large windows for cross ventilation! Mine one is no different and as such it may look alike the one in Chennai where you stayed. H is nothing but a capital letter of the English alphabet. The first alphabet of the word home is H. I have posted the photo of my home on my blog page. Next Friday, members would post Photos of objects having first alphabet of which is I. For example: Ibex. Be safe.
