Defying All Odds The Sky's Her Limit Her physical disability to pursue her dream could not stop her as yet from proceeding towards her cherished goal. So far she has proved herself as an indomitable village girl from Lalmonirhat, a place located in the northern most corner of this country! She is Arifa Akhter, a 16 years old . She is born with hand deformities! She was incapable of doing anything by her hands since her birth. But the predicament could not deter her from pursuing her dream to get herself properly educated. She has since sat for her Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations that began a few days back! She has now become a subject of curiosity as she writes the answers with her right leg! Her left foot aids the right when she writes or draws! Readers may please see the appended pictures that would tell them everything in this respect. Since childhood, Arifa learned to do all sorts of household chores including writing with her feet. Her parents provide her with all sorts of support as far as possible for them! Her father is a day laborer, He does not earn much. Yet, he wants her youngest to get the highest education as Arifa likes to study. Though she is physically handicapped since birth, other four siblings are normal. The headmaster of the school where Arifa had her primary education would tell everyone who would like to listen that he feels proud of Arifa as she was the best student of his school. She got a GPA-5 in Junior School Certificate (JSC) examinations. Arifa is among the top brilliant Secondary School Certificate candidates from her school. Arifa Akhter has so far defied all odds and it is expected that she would come out with flying colors this time also! Dear readers, wish her success! Source: The Daiky Star |

Thank you for appreciating the story of Arifa, posted on my blog page. No words could be enough for praising this young girl's parents who are really poor under any standard but providing her every opportunity. “I could never provide the supports she needed but she never asked for it either. I have been trying my level best to give my daughter higher education,” said her father, a day laborer who earns Taka 200 daily (3 U S dollar). Thanks once again Mrs. Joe for stopping by and leaving your comments on the post. Have a nice weekend.
