 I don't think that being mature and just moving on when one sees a confrontational comment is being an asshole. It's just not giving that person the pleasure of the retort they wanted.

 I know it isn't, but I also don't think you are going to get a rise out of those to whom you directed it. They may fume, and I'm sure they are, but they won't give you the pleasure of a retort..... maybe because they know they can't best you at it?
