Good King Wenceslaus:
Good King Wenceslaus, back in the 10th century, brought a feast to a poor family and started of our most cherished Christmas traditions - sharing food with others.
You probably know the story of this compassionate king from the popular Christmas carol.
On a bitter cold winter's night, Wenceslaus spied a peasant from his palace window, gathering winter fuel.
Moved by the sight of the poor man trying to find firewood, the king packed up a basket of food and with his servant, trudged through the snow to the peasant's home.
Since then, baking cookies for friends, bringing care packages to the needy and cooking for others have become annual Christmas traditions enjoyed by all.

For those who like to vacation/travel:
A wallet-size currency converter; a tiny foreign language/English dictionary; gummed labels with your name and address on them; a travel diary; shoe bags; fold up slippers for the plane trip; a mini sewing kit; sample size beauty and personal care products, such as toothpaste and deodorant.

For your party Hostess:
Fancy stirrers for drinks; a few ented candles held together with a colorful ribbon, a half-dozen napkin rings; paper cocktail napkins and coaster; mini-guest soaps; small spray-can of air freshener for the bathroom.

I remember a few years ago, hearing the story of a couple of ladies who were out shopping for Christmas in a van. They stopped for supper at a popular restaurant and when they came back out to their van, all their gifts had been stolen.
I keep leaving Joe in the van, but nobody has stolen him yet.... maybe I should wrap him in gift paper?

Remember when you are out shopping, put your presents in the trunk, if your in an SUV use the slide out cover in the back, or put the parcels on the floor in the back and cover with a blanket. Vehicle brake in's are high this time of year.
