One for people who are in a reading group

In my last blog I mentioned a book called "A Street Cat Named Bob by James Bowen. Now I would like to introduce you to a book by Kristin von Kreisler called "An Unexpected Grace". This is an excerpt from the jacket's back cover.

"Lila Elliot knows she's lucky. A shooting rampage at her office left several colleagues dead and others wounded. Lila's injuries will heal in time. Yet though she gratefully retreats to her best friend's house to recuperate, Lila can't move past her fear and anger. Being drafted into caring for Grace - a shaggy, formerly abused golden retriever - only adds to her stress. But Grace, like Lila needs time and space to recover.

Grace only perks up for Adam, the neighbor who rescued her. Though struggling to make sense of her recent tragedy, Lila, an accomplished artist, begins to see beauty in Grace's wisps of fur and haunted eyes. And in helping Grace to trust, Lila, is being gently nudged toward the courage she needs to do the same.

Poignant and uplifting, An Unexpected Grace is a beautifully written story of compassion, healing and true soul mates - in all their guises."

For those of you who are in a reading group, there is a Reading Group Guide at the end of the book with lead-in discussion questions.

What did I take away from the book? Just when I think people should walk a mile in my shoes I meet a man with no legs.

Oh yeah, Kristin has other books you will enjoy.

sure sounds like my kind of story. I'll have to see if I can put it on the Kindle.
