Winter wonderland, pretty but cold.

It has been a chilly couple of weeks. Started with a storm that dumped 2' on us. Went out and snow blew path ways for the dogs and the lane way/parking area. Then we had snow flurries almost every day, so every couple of days got the snow blower out.

Four days ago we had another Blizzard with high winds that lasted three days. Big snow drifts(three to four feet) and cold temps. Yesterday finally finished snow blowing. Did the dogs path but did not put the cross paths in due to three to four foot drifts. Looks so nice out there with all the clean white snow, sun shining, blah, blah. BUT it is -32C or 25.6F with a wind chill of -40C or -40F. Our vehicles are all plugged in.

The snow is almost level with the 4' chain link fence. Good thing the dogs can't climb the drifts or they would be gone out of the yard. They saw the sun shine and thought it was warm out, HA. Mrsdinty just brought the Chihuahua's in, although she had them dressed in their winter sweaters and their parkas they only stayed out about a minute. Now she is taking the coats off and pulling sweaters over their heads. Think they will use the litter pan and puppy pads for the rest of the day?

Have to head into work in two hours. You would not believe the idiots who drive like crazy in this weather. Snow and ice and still they speed. Just the other day(3am), a 35yr old male was out at the bar, had to much to drink and decided to take a taxi home. While stopped at a red light the taxi was rear ended by an 18yr old . The 30yr old in the back seat was killed, the taxi driver in serious condition and the drunk 18yr old not a scratch.
Hey don't drink and drive!

Maybe our night temps in the high 30's aren't so bad! Fortunately It almost always gets up in the 60's during the day and many days much warmer.

Our biggest threat here is our citrus crops. This time of year they are still ripening. A freeze (below 32 F) can ruin the whole thing, cost the growers millions and seriously raise the price of citrus and juice at the store.

Sounds wimpish but for those of us who live here this is cold and aggravates old "Uncle Arthur" in very painful ways.

We had 29 inches of snow when I lived in northeast Ohio, in Indiana one year we had 24 inches of snow. My grandson and I shoveled behind the garage door and the carport. Came in to warm up. A bit later I looked out and said, Adam let's go shovel snow...he replied, grandma we just did (thought old granny had lost her mind in the cold). I told him the snowplow has come by and now the garage and carport were again blocked.

Here in Georgia one year we had 3 inches of snow! Crippled the town, lol. No snow removal equipment in our town.

Just called time and temperature, today the high is supposed to be 68º, is that right now, low tonight of 61º with showers.

Now, see why people move south and not north!!!

Sorry to have to tell you, dinty, that it is 80 degrees down here in our little corner of Georgia. Do you have a sweat rag you aren't using that I could maybe borrow?

Alfie...

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.
