Why are there no snowwomen?

Ah, very simple every snowperson starts out being made with snowballs. Take away the snowballs and what have you got? Why snow piles and who wants piles?

 I'm trying to remember if I have ever seen a snowwoman. Pictures yes but not sure if I have in person.

 Recalling my childhood in cold country we used to dress up our snow people to be both men and women. Our parents were not too happy with us sometimes when we took some of their clothing for the project.
