Spring snow storm woes

Here it is, the first full day of spring and a serious snow storm.

There have been several multiple vehicle accidents, the worst just South of Edmonton at Leduc Alberta. 65 to 100 vehicles and over 100 people injured. Another just South of that of 20 to 30 vehicles and several injured, and of course a few others.

Blowing snow, black ice on the road and drivers going to fast. My was coming home from work and a double axle pick up 4x4 turned in front of him and slid sideways across his path. My was going 50kph(31mph) in a 100kph(62mph) and was able to avoid an accident. In this storm the speed should be around 60kph(37mph) or slower. When will people learn. 4 wheel drive is no match for pure ice.

Have a safe spring everyone.

Hi Dinty: I saw clips of the terrible weather in your area and that scary pile up. It's still cold and snowing here but not too bad. Can't wait for this long winter to finally be over.

Too bad that we have to share the road with the idiots who think they're invincible and won't slow down!!!

I have a gal pal near Edmonton and she was telling me all about the pile up....Sighhhhhhh. It's amazing that the injuries were not even worse.

Hang in there!!!!!

You'll probably hate me but it's 80 and sunny here. Unfortunately that does mean we are accident free.
