Thank You Wildfather
A while ago Lee shared a photo of an unusual hibiscus blossom. The timing was perfect for me. I was overdue to replace the seasonal painting in my front garden and was planning on doing a Georgia O'Keeffe style flower. Flowers are a huge departure from my usual and was waiting for the right one.

I have a couple of "commissioned" projects to finish. Once they are completed I think I will do more flowers to fill in for the ones that will be missing this year due to drought connected watering limitations. We have plenty of native plants that don't need much water but they are not all that colorful, mostly shades of green / brown.

Thanks for the inspiration Lee.

 Very nice painting Spiritwoman. Congrats for the nice art work and thanks for sharing it with us. We also have in my country, lots of hibiscus flowers of different and mixed colors as well. I have them in my garden too, they are pretty really.

I always loved her way of abstracting the realistic while keeping it real enough that it is easily recognizable. She is also a wonderful example of the independent woman without bitterness that many of us aspire to be.

thank you. Hibiscus are very plentiful here and in Mexico as well, so much so that I never considered painting one until Lee posted his, great picture.
