Renaissance Fair We went to a Renaissance Fair this afternoon. I had not been to one in about 30 years. This one is huge. It included hundreds of people in period costume performing all sorts of reenactments of appropriate activities. There were booth for about any sort craft you could imagine and many interactive activities. Food, drinks and all kinds of medieval themed treats. About half of the attendees came in costume, not limited to renaissance styles so there were all sorts of strange outfits. I have an appropriate renaissance dress but passed on that in favor of light weight Mexican cotton attire. It was in the high 80's and those renaissance clothes are only suitable for drafty old castles. A couple of people in costume actually passed out. The regulars were unconcerned. One commented "This happens all of the time. Pour some cold water on her neck and she will be fine." As a special treat we got to spend some time hanging out with Chuck's brother. He is part of a group who study and recreate the royal court. They dress and converse in the language of the day. Even the played the part. Little girls dressed like princesses sitting prim and proper embroidering This is a picture of the washer women carrying out their work. They really enjoyed playing the part as did everyone. That does sound like fun, Spirit. I only heard the term washer women one time before. They had a statute of one in Barcelona at Parc Guell. Elaine Shuel

It takes a lot of walking and time on your feet but since my hip and leg are so much better I was able to handle it easily. Hurray for the cat medicine. Spiritwoman ^i^

I haven't been more than through El Paso. No matter where it may be it's always fun to visit the "old stomping grounds with our children. Spiritwoman ^i^
