These are Rudbeckia, a member of the sunflower family, called black-eyed Susans. They are the state flower of Maryland. Put them in full sun and get out of their way!

I can't take credit for doing anything with the background. That's what my little old iPhone did on a sunny day. Actually I think the flowers themselves sucked all the yellow out of the wood tone in the background and the green in the foreground. What is left is BLUE.
