Foto Friday..Procrastination It all started with a damaged old fiberglass bath tub and two old fiberglass tubs. I sanded, repaired and sprayed with jell coat. After that came the positioning then the measuring for the string line, the digging and leveling etc etc. The weed mat and border were laid, gravel and a layer of hessian was used for drainage. It was then time for the dirt to be shoveled into the pots. Woo hoo after all the hard labor that I did all on my own it was finally time for planting. Off to the nursery I went gathered my vegetation and put them in the tubs. My plan, get the plants going and complete the landscaping with rocks, pebbles and perhaps artificial grass for the pathway around my tubs. The first 9 pictures show my progress in August 2009. The last picture was taken of the end result in November 2010 (present time). Hmm fresh veggies and herbs what could be better! The rest will come one day…lol.

The expensive weed mat deteriorated much quicker than it was supposed to and I knew I would have to lay another form of weed control. I decided to make it a winter project and I started saving my old newspapers with the intention of using them for the base and covering with a thick layer of sand before placing my rocks, pebbles and yes I had decided on artificial grass for the pathways. As you can see, winter came and went. Ah well it may not look crash hot but I can still enjoy the fresh veggies and an ocassional spray with round up keeps the grass under control. I may get around to fixing up the landscaping if I stop procrastinating long enough....

Hey, this is great, Wonder. You really worked hard on this. Thanks for sharing your progress along the way. Our gardens are always works in progress, aren't they? It's almost as much fun thinking and planning it over the years as it is actually doing it. What kinds of veggies have you got planted this year? Any flowers? Take care of yourself and don't work too hard. Got to get you all well, too...the garden will be waiting for you. We are getting ready for winter here. I hope it will be a mild one and I'll still have some of my flowers going. I've been thinking about what to repot and bring inside (I don't want to bring in any uninvited guests), what to cover if it goes below freezing, and what to let fend for itself. Mine are all in containers on my deck. I have about 30 to think and plan for this year...not as many as last year when I had over 50 of all sizes. Sigh, I hate the thought of being flowerless. I've been looking into things that might survive uncovered and still flower a bit. Not sure how they will do if it freezes...or how late you can plant them. I haven't made it to the nursery yet. After our colder than usual winter last year, I don't know what to expect. I've read that we are in a La Nina condition so it may be warmer...I sure hope so. Lol, I shouldn't complain...our winters down here are so mild compared to up north. Oops, sorry about rattling on. Hugs and happy gardening! Katy

Hi Wonderious. I just love it. A perfect example, with photographic evidence to boot. Thank you so much. Mike![]() "Think Foto Friday -- it's good for what ails ya!" --- Unknown

This is great. I love the way that you have utilized what many others would have simply discarded. There are not many women (or men for that matter) that have worked with gel coat.

Hi Wonder. That kind of work is a therapy for you, I guess. Do you have a helper? Take care. Lucy
