Foto Friday recreation ![]() Canoeing is a great way of getting some exercise while enjoying my favorite recreation of being in or on the water. My collage this week shows one of the fiberglass canoes that I helped to build from scratch. We built 2 with the intention of going to Sydney to paddle out and watch the fireworks on New Years Eve. Unfortunately we never made it but we did put them in our local waters and watched the fireworks from there. The subject of this week’s Foto Friday has brought back to me all the wonderful times I have spent in that canoe! From slow lazy paddling on the lakes or creeks to paddling against the waves at nearby Terrigal Beach, ah what a joy! It has also turned my thoughts to when the canoe was being made, ha ha there’s a funny story attached but I may share that with you another time. |

Wow! That finished canoe is exquisite! I'd sure love to be able to make one like that. I enjoy canoeing, especially for backpacking expeditions, and trout fishing in the lakes along the northern tier of of the US and in Canada. Thanks so much for the post....the lines of that canoe...just great. Mike![]() "Think Foto Friday -- it's good for what ails ya!" --- Unknown

I love canoeing... and to actually paddle in a canoe that you yourself built must be very exhilarating. What a wonderful post... thank you!![]() Happiness is where we find it, but rarely where we seek it. J. Petit Senn

Thanks for taking a look and commenting everyone. I still get out in it when I get the chance. Wicked, glad there were no gators where I paddled..LOL Jimbob, you would know all about the resin and catilist etc involved with fibreglassing then, I remember it well LOL, it's a big job but I had lots of fun building it.
