Geez. Creepy. Wouldn't it be amazing if his wife turned out to be widowed first.

The pressures and often loneliness some people face with a relative in palliative care are tremendous and sometimes cause them to behave inappropriately and perhaps he has been already feeling like a widower for some time. But, lying about it to someone else....oh man, so wrong.

I agree. Wanting to alleviate the loneliness is understandable but lying about being a widower is not.

Good move Karin. If he lied from the get go it sounds like a pattern to me.

Not much I can add to ET's story other than Wow - Maybe this lady should meet your guy.

Horrible stories, seemingly horrible man, yet some people don't seem to think they are doing anything wrong by such behavior. I have had many adult children count their net worth based on what they expected to inherit from their parents, saying things like, "it's unlikely they will be here longer than a year". They truly did not feel their behavior was offensive.

A despicable man, for sure!

What a "husband" he turned out to be. If his wife only knew.......

Another thought...what if she didn't die within a year. However with his scruples, it apparently didn't matter.

Agree with buddie.

I can understand the loneliness when a spouse is totally incapacitated, but he shouldn't have put her in the grave prematurely.

And karin deserves honesty from the start.
