Wild Date with the REPUBLICAN if only I could remember his name. It is interesting how a change of direction can create major life changes. I haven't dated for a few years and suddenly I've exchanged with a few gentlemen. This evening I received a phone call from Mr. B who I met at Republican Campaign Headquarters. He asked me if I wanted to go to dinner. Dang! I couldn't remember his first name. I could remember his birthday and the names of his ancestors but I couldn't remember his name. I only had enough time to get dressed for the date. I had his name in my computer but no time to open it up. He arrived at my doorstep so I called him, Mr. Gorgeous. He asked me where I wanted to go. I asked him if he like home cooking or exotic adventure. He liked it all. I suggested that we drive to Lewisburg and see what we could find there. It used to be that I would cast a man's astrological chart and tell him all about himself. Instead I was able to tell him about his family history. Dang, I couldn't remember his name so I called him Mr. Cutie. We arrived in Lewisburg and he asked about Shoney's. Blah! Trough Feeding. I was looking for someplace semi-romantic so I suggested Carlito's. When we arrived we were seated near the television so he got to watch college football. The Mountaineers beat Texas so it was all good. He asked me what I like to do for fun. Political activism and opera. So we have a date for the Opera The MET Live in HD: Saturday at 12:45. Marnie, it's an adaption of an Alfred Hitchcock movie. I usually go to Operas by myself but it will be interesting to go with a companion. I am not sure how he would feel about my political activism but keeping company with the GOP has been a good change for me. I would have never found a date at the Woman's Democrat Club. |

Who would have thought something so simple as changing your political party would lead to something like this? Republican men are more fun - except for the Kennedy boys. They were a lot of fun, or so I hear. 💞💓💞 Fossil Non ego te hic placere

When I was first dating Joe, we watched Rigaletto on his TV and I told one of my resident's husband about it. When his wife's doctor came in to see her, the man told the doctor that I was dating a man that liked opera and I had actually watched one with him on TV. The doctor laughed, and told me that I sure must like the guy to sit through opera with him! (He would go to the opera with his wife, although he didn't care for it.) So, I guess he must like you. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Maybe Mr. Republican will feel appreciated since I sat through a date while he was watching a football game. I wasn't facing the television but it was interesting watching all the folks cheering for the Mountaineers as they beat Texas in the last 10 minutes of the game.

I had a fun date once that comes to mind. I met a woman from a dating site, and she spent more time talking to a guy she knew at the next table than me.

That would be very uncomfortable. I've had some odd dates with men I met on dating sites......usually because they weren't honest in their profiles. One man was very rude to me and it turned out we had met before and he had contacted me because he recognized me and thought it would be a fun surprise for me when he showed up. I didn't recognize him and he felt insulted, so he was very unpleasant towards me. I just thought he was a jerk until months later when I suddenly remembered our first meeting......

All Trump supporters can be labeled "Republican".. whether they call themselves that or not... But all Republicans are not Trump supporters.. All Democrat women aren't socialists or Femi-nazis.. but all socialists and femi-nazi are Democrats.. even if they don't label themselves that way. I would prefer NOT to date a Trump supporter or a socialist... Even though a preference should not be based on a political "label"....but I have TOTAL aversion to Trump supporters.. not on an ideological base... but on the basis of communication.. on the basis of ideas and reasoning.. It's just not going to work for me, and it's not going to work for them either. Maybe you think. it's the same both ways.. but that not the way i see it... I don't wish to be agreed with..in fact, that doesn't work for me either.. I find Trump supporter unwilling to ACKNOWLEDGE different ideas,, and I am full of different ideas. Not acknowledging those ideas.. means they are NOT acknowledging ME...I, on the other hand, will ACKNOWLEDGE their limited ideas.. agreement is not a necessity. In fact for me, the disagreement and the way you disagree is a necessity.

I have given up on the dating sites including this one. I survived two potential relationships from hell from the dunderheads that I met on SFF. I met an abundance of jerks from POF. I had not dated in 5 years figuring my time in more valuable. I lucked out last night. All because I started keeping company with the deplorables. There is no way I could just switch my deeply held beliefs one day......I have been living in close proximity to, been in community with, have fought for some issues along with those who have different politics than me. Their children went to the same schools as my children, we go to the same doctors, to many of the same gatherings, work for the same boss...I love lots of people who vote differently than me. I don't understand your world at all, where political factions are so divided that they live in separate realities as they seem to in your world.

I gave up on dating sites too, I never got past a first date with any of the men I met that way, but it wasn't because they were jerks, but because we didn't fit. .......I can't, however imagine your situation. I've been involved politically since I was in high school and went door to door stumping for my candidate.......I have been thinking about politics all my life, thinking about the consequences, getting involved. Changes don't happen in just one day, they can occur over a period of time. I attended Quaker Meetings for ten years before deciding to make it official. Politically, I can accomplish a lot more as a Quaker than I could as a Wiccan Minister. I still light candles, leave a jade plant on a ladder on my porch (for prosperity) hang fairy mirrors on the balcony, and light candles in my home. Quakers are historically activist which makes my heart do a happy dance. I have been considering a political party change for a few years. I still support many of the same issues that I did as a Democrat but politically, I can be more effective as a Republican. I am not sending Trump love letters but I don't have to hate him either. Nor do I have to hate Obama just because I changed political parties.
