CYBER DEFAMATION

Any derogatory statement, which is designed to injure a person's business or reputation, constitutes cyber defamation. Defamation can be accomplished as libel or slander. Cyber defamation occurs when defamation takes place with the help of computers and / or the Internet. For example, someone publishes defamatory matter about someone on a website or sends e-mails containing defamatory information to that person’s friends.

Interestingly enough, under Florida Law it is considered a misdemeanor to cause or attempt to cause financial damage to another party or person or persons by spreading malicious rumors, false statements or misleading information. If this is accomplished using the Internet it is then upgraded to a felony, punishable by heavy fines and imprisonment. This is not a civil offense but, rather, a criminal offense and should be reported to law enforcement authorities.

The above offenses have occurred recently which involved a particular member of Senior Friend Finder, specifically providing false and misleading information about other members of this site. There are confirmed instances of one particular person sending out false and misleading emails in an effort to convince people to not attend the St Pete Bash. Since this clearly can cause financial harm to several parties and has been accomplished using the Internet as a medium for delivery, a felony has been committed. If you have received any emails or other communications described above, please forward to me and I will see that they are furnished to the proper authorities. Several have already done so and these are being forwarded.

I would go after them with a vengeance. Party-poopers with malice are one of the worst things that exist. Lesley Gore said "It's my party..."

WOW ... I think most of us on this site know who the troubled souls are, meaning, those who constantly have issues with someone and go to the extent of bashing those who attend the bashes. The person who does this needs help.

While this is very good info, I prefer to ignore the poor souls who can never seem to be happy and must cause turmoil everywhere they go, including a Friend Finder Website...

In a defamation suit, a person has to actually prove they were injured ... people have to be willing to press charges and go to court, then, the offender has to be located ... If anyone really has time to deal with this, more power to them. I think it would be better to email the offender back and tell them they are making a fool out of themselves. Anyone who would enage in and support the same type of behavior, wouldn't show up to the bash anyway .... I hope.

Well said and very timely. I seriously doubt the person responsible for this will let a little thing like the law stop them though. She is too bent on her vindictive crusade to bring as much harm and discredit to anyone and everyone connected to the bash, including the bash itself. Let the law take it's course. It's high time for legal action and file a complaint against her with the authorities. I would not blame you and others if you commence civil proceedings against her as well, for monetary damages. The time for nice is over. Let the courts deal with her.

You know that many of us stand behind you, me and the rest that
have received slander from that one infamous woman that we speak
of here.
Should there be any people who have doubts of coming because of
her nasty slander....let me have their handle and I'll set them straight......smiles here.
I know for a fact that many people are coming to this particular
bash.....for sure in the hundreds....and I keep inviting more
everyday.
One can never have too many friends and I personally know of some
of the greatest people that are coming to party with us.
Actually, I will give a toast at the bash to the largest group to
have ever gotten together....and all of this is because fossil and lucy are wonderful people and know how to through a party.....well

Its way past time folks! It began several years ago with the YAYA incident and has escalated since, running rampant through the lives of numerous other good people of SFF.

What I can't understand is why can't people just chat and have a good time? Why do they feel the need to invade the private life of one they barely know? I truly feel sorry for all new chatters who have no clue of the "undercurrents" at work on this "once fun" site!

girl you r the bomb, ty for lookin out for all of us. most have experienced the backlash of disagreeing with the almighty "clique" ( i think that is the word used constantly). this is the only place where disagreeing with someone, constitutes attacking them. free speech and free thoughts apparently do NOT belong on sff, unless you like being cast in the salt mines for a few days. legal actions seem more than appropriate. snortin atcha girl

I first want to thank you all for your help and support, without you this could not be accomplished.

I also would like to thank those of you who have sent in cut and pastes from different areas. Whether it was something you've had for a while or something you cut and paste from today. Thank you!

It's hard to believe that one person who wrote the first e-mail that started this blog and named not only myself but others has the audacity to say that she is being harassed. This person noted that she was once again stabbed in the back, which I found kind of ironic since the e-mails and other things said have a name signed to them.

Now I would like to say I did not realize that this person was still on my banned from my blog list, but instead of complaining that my blog is only for 'my' friends, which is not true, I would think I would be thanked that by this person for not allowing her to sink herself any further.

I look at the responses here and I am amazed at the overwhelming response of people who are tired of the antics here.

Thank you again for the recent discoveries I have been given today.. please keep them coming.. the more the easier!

I've tried to be silent and not comment on any of this due primarily to the fact that it is childish. However I am making an exception here.

I agree with your blog with one exception. What has been done (Assuming what I've heard is correct and thats a big assumption) is clearly wrong. It is not, however, a felony. Doing something that "Can" cause harm is not necessarily a criminal offense. Doing something intentionally with malice may be.

I certainly am not an authority nor am I well informed enough to offer more than a less than informed opinion. This entire matter has gotten way to far out of hand. We all know that there are 4 people intent upon hurting someone. Who they hurt really doesn't matter because it will be anyone that does not agree with them.

Suggesting a criminal offense should be left to the authorities that have to bring the charges. Individuals do not do that. They simply report the incident and wait to be called to testify.

Once agaiI agree with your blog and hope it does some good.

What I have written has been told to me by the Authorities here in Florida. The one thing I found out about Florida are the rules here are different than any other State I have lived in.

I do agree with you in that I will leave it up to the Authorities and just collect the e-mails and chat that have targeted so many by a few. I have much more now than I did when I first showed them and it was their words that called the letters - e-mails - chat that a few here have indeed been malicious.

As a matter of fact one of them must realize that her malice acts and words have cause harm, because more of the recent evidence I have is her saying she refuses to comment because it can be used against her.

I have many things going back to even the time of Yaya on folks. I think these women have had their fun at others expense long enough. The conversations between them aimed at others, in an open forum have indeed not only made others very tired but very cooperative on helping to stop this nonsense.

I will continue to collect items that come to me and hand them in as it was the Authorities that told me to do so, I am assuming they think it's worth the effort and time.

I want to thank you for your comment here. I was hoping that you would as I respect your thoughts and your neutral grounds you stand on. Please know that I would love to have met you at the St Pete's Bash... It's never to late to say YES!!

I want to say 2 things..

First Thank you for the things that were sent to me yesterday. I have added them to the growing file! I cannot believe how in such a short time I have gathered so much. I do have a deadline to hand this over so please once again, if you have something that you are wondering if you should send it.. just send it and let the authorities worry if it admissible or not.

The second thing is just as important... My blog here will remain open for any comments.. but I just want to say I personally will not be commenting in it to let you know the progress.. this DOES NOT mean I have stopped my case.. it just means that I do not want to become a product of what I am fighting against.

I have found in my studies and in working with the poor that oppressed people become the oppressor after a period of time. There are many people who have been 'kept' quiet for fear of retaliation or personal attack, I understand this. It's part of human nature. I DO NOT want to become the oppressor. That is not the reason for this blog.

I am sorry if it appeared that I was becoming that very product. Today is a new day and a new hour.. I will continue to collect any and all that you send in.. and when it is time to hand it over.. I shall do so. From what I understand investigations can take a while so please be patient. I will however come back here and let you all know what the outcome is.

Thank you again for the support and the willingness on your part to step up to the plate and stop what so few have been doing for so long.
