Another reflection..

You know when I look at some people in the world today..the way they act.. the things they say.. a word or sentence with an underline of a hurtful, disrespecting or just a crude remark of ignorance towards someone else.. I often wonder if I may do the same thing in times of weakness.. in times of re-acting instead of not.

I read something today that I have found myself doing lately...which is.. looking at a situation, a conversation, or an action done by others..and whether it is towards me or not.. I ask the vital question.. "How can I use this for my own growth?" I have found in more times than not lately.. I have grown by watching others.. either through respecting the life they live and making note as to if it fits in the life I am moving toward.. or by disregarding and moving on. I found it very interesting to read and reflect with one little short paragraph today it read:

People have a propensity to do mean, mindless, irrational, irresponsible and unloving things. You know that! Rather than asking why, ask "How can I use this for my own growth?"

It really works.. taking what might have been hurtful situation in life..and turning it around asking yourself that question!

I would like to take this moment and thank everyone who has helped me grow.. whether it was by a loving, caring word or action or whether it was when it was intended to hurt or scar me in some way.. you have aided in my growth of how to be or not to be.. I am forever thankful

Next time someone offends you, ticks you off, or trys to get your goat... instead of reacting.. ask yourself.. "How can I use this for my own growth?" You might be very surprised at your answer, your response and your new and renewed feelings on the subject and/or person.

May you continue to grow in light of any situation!

Have a great evening,
Smile
Gina

Jes,

I also look at where they are coming from, we can't understand what experiences that brought them to unleash at a certain time, perhaps a trigger for them and they have not found the wisdom to move on...and I do believe, like you said, there are usually lessons for us to be learned. Just take what you like, leave as you choose to, wish other joy, happiness and hope.

Have a great day! I just love sharing your journey, so many reminders to myself.

Hugs,
Cindy

I have used Alissa's comment often when I was teaching:

My favorite saying concerning this is: Just because someone calls you a "chair" doesn't make you a "chair". But it should cause you to think and evaluate.

I usually said it - If someone said your skin is green what would your reaction be. It's not green so there is no point getting upset about it. You know what you are.
