Local food bank?......I used to be a prolific baker.....I was counted on by all the fund-raising bake sales and volunteer concessions and pot-lucks and dinners......I got really fancy........but that was a long time ago and I have discovered, to my chagrin, that it takes practice to be a good baker....now I rely on the young moms who are earning pin money with their baking......and I can buy as little as I want........Oh, but you were looking for a distraction......I wish we could go out to lunch together.......sigh.....or come over for coffee and bring some of those cookies.......Come over on Monday at 3-45.....that's when my grandsons and 8-10 of their friends come off the bus for some kind of game they play around the table.......not in my house, but next door........I'm sure you can imagine what they sound like coming up the driveway and how wonderful your cookies would look to them....LOL. .....Goodnight ET......

Your cookies look wonderful Earthy. I have to stick to a healthier version of cookies like Applesauce Oatmeal cookies with raisins and walnuts. I use a little bit of brown sugar Splenda in them in place of sugar. They are actually quite good.

I think they look great ET...and I've been a cook and baker most of my lie, so don't beat yourself up! If they're not as soft and chewy as you wanted...dip them in your tea or coffee...simple!

They look tasty. I would love to taste one just now. I have a craving for something sweet!!! Wait,...... my son just came home from work now and he handed me a tub of Millionaires Mini Bites, clusters of digestive and shortbread biscuits covered with caramel and milk chocolate, Im off to have a feast!!!!!
