Shaking In Their Boots Yes ! It's TRUE ! Hawaiian Farmers are shaking in their boots when they found out what I am doing. I am going into Pineapple Farming ! Our store had pineapples for just $1.99 each. I purchased *Two. You just carefully remove the tops by twisting it. Trim back the lower leaves. Cut off any remaining fruit. The tops fit perfectly into the mouth of quart fruit jars filled with water. I will place them so they catch the morning sun. I'm gonna be rich! Rich!! RICH!!! |

Ok.... maybe not rich, however, it will be fun trying to grow them. I have a pair of cement planters for out on the deck next spring they should fit into. Pineapples take 18 months to two years to ripen. Did a little rummaging but didn't see anything that tripped my trigger. Also picked up some bolt thingies JD wanted. The car said 39 F... 4 C on the way home.

Aw heck, just fly to Hawaii and take a pineapple tour and eat it there. OR, go to the store and buy one. They are already ripe. Just cut the outer sides, slice down and there ya go.........

Growing pineapple plants like that can be fun and interesting, but I have found that they tend to rot and die after a few months. Good luck with your pineapple plantation venture.

I like pineapple too, but have never bought a fresh one. The thorns scare me. I always get the canned ones, already sliced or diced, and ready to eat. Had some yesternight as a matter of fact.

It was a pleasant day here at 39F, sunny, calm. I took the dog on a 3.4 km walk and brought her to my house to give her a bbq pork chop bone which she thoroughly enjoyed. Then I followed her home where I gave her owner a haircut and beard trim. Felt a lot better today with my blood pressure a bit higher than the lows of the last while.

One is gone already. We pigged out with ham sandwiches. I don't know where these came from but they are pretty good... and priced right too.
