Picture is my backyard ... this native Oak tree came up through the center of this native Manzanita scrub.

It is interesting how nature works, the different trees etc. Will you leave the manzanita around the oak? I have several pecan trees scattered around the place where squirrels buried their winter food. I have tried to transplant them but the roots will be as deep in the ground as the tree is tall. I tried to post a tree picture but for some reason it was rejected. I will try it again. I

Very nice!! Oak is a very hard wood I think. It will be a good size in a couple of years.

Very nice picture. I just let plants grow where they choose . I have no desire to control the landscape that some do.

WHEN I LIVED IN A CHICAGO SUBURB, THE STREET WAS CALLED OAK DRIVE BUT THERE WERE NO OAK TREES AT ALL. AFTER ABOUT SIX YEARS OR SO, ONE OF THE HOMEOWNERS CALLED THE OTHERS AND IT WAS DECIDED TO PLANT AT LEAST ONE OAK TREE ON EACH PROPERTY. OF COURSE THEY WERE QUITE SMALL, NOTHING LIKE THAT BEAUTY YOU HAVE.
