Took a little detour
This morning I was on my way to the local coffee shop when I noticed pretty sunrise colors. You know how much I love taking sunrise photos! Of course I had to take a little detour to Nantucket Sound. For those not familiar with the area, Nantucket Sound is the body of water off the coast of Massachusetts between Cape Cod and the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. A few minutes later I was gazing out over the sound at a sunrise that became more beautiful with every passing minute!




A day without dance is .... just kidding. I have no idea!

It sure is beautiful, and I love the picture. I've never been to Nantucket, but love New Bedford and Cape Cod.

I bet New Bedford is fun and interesting. I hear it is a big fishing port and it's known for its art galleries. I've lived in Massachusetts most of my life and that's one area I've never visited. Maybe someday!

When I was on my early 20's and dating a young lady from New Bedford, she took me disco dancing to a few clubs. That was around 1981. Noticed a large Portuguese community, mostly fishermen like you mentioned. It was a fun place to hang out .

Rocket, thanks! Usually I'm so focused on work that detours aren't a part of my life but today there was nothing pressing so off I went!

... annnnd the Dartmouth Mall is just one town over. What's not to like? lol

 I'm not usually up at sunrise, but looking at your picture, I can feel that magical atmosphere of sunrise at the ocean. I'm glad you took that detour and shared the picture.
Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

 MY PARENTS AND I VISITED CAPE COD IN 1955 WHEN MY BROTHER GRADUATED FROM HARVARD AND GOT MARRIED. WE VISITED MARTHA'S VINEYARD BUT NEVER GOT TO NANTUCKET. I ENJOYED THE AREA ALTHOUGH I AM NOT ONE FOR THE EAST COAST IN GENERAL.

I hear Martha's Vineyard is nice. Hard to imagine living on an island though. This peninsula is remote enough for me!

The sunrise view from my home is nothing like the photo I posted but I do enjoy looking out the window early in the morning just to see the glow.
