Dance like ...

They say, "Dance like no one is watching.". I've seen this saying over the years and always thought of it as good advice. Today on social media I saw an updated version: "Dance like no one is watching because they're not. They're checking their phones.".

Probably true in many cases!

A day without dance is .... just kidding. I have no idea!

The challenge when sponsoring a dance party is to keep everyone so engaged and happy on the dance floor that they don't even think about their phones!

A day without dance is .... just kidding. I have no idea!

Cell phones are a blessing and a curse.

I have to agree with you on that, I've always thought that way.

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

You can say that again Some people can't even walk down the street without having their head stuck in their phone.

I couldn't agree more, Pearls. When good music is playing and dancing to be done, my phone is the last thing on my mind.

Oh my, how true that is for too many folks. When Joe and I would go with friends to a non smoking, nonalcohol club in TN, I just loved watching the people who were out there, dancing every dance.
My favorite was a young man who always danced with a lady in her 80s, and they were so in sync that it was a joy to watch. His partner didn't really care to dance, and I would sometimes sit and visit with him and found out that they had met the lady at another dance place and just really hit up a good friendship. His partner had been part of a professional dance troupe and now had an office job, but gave lessons on the side.
Joe and I occasionally danced together or with other, but we were more of the just hold on and sway to the music kind.

Isn't it a joy to watch people who are having fun on the dance floor and seem to dance so effortlessly?!

Love... Love... Love to dance!!

I met a fellow a few years ago and we stopped in at the Legion before heading to watch a hockey game. Great dance music was playing and I suggested we have a whirl around the floor. He stated that he didn't dance. I said that we could just sway to the music..... Nope!!
That was our first and last date~~~ LOLOL

Regarding cell phones..... When I'm out with friends I do not look at my phone even if it's ringing or a text is coming in. Some of my friends think I'm 'different'~~ LOL

Yes, it is. It didn't matter that she was in her 80s, and he was 50 years younger. They were just so in tune to each other.
When I was in the latter years of grade school, one of my classmates loved to do all the moves that we watched on shows like American Bandstand. His girl friend hated fast dances, so he always asked me to dance with him, and we did quite well..... for clumsy young teenagers. I'm smiling at the memory. He always had to dance the slow dances with her, but I was never without a partner. They just seemed awkward though, after being so in sync with him.

Totally understand about "first and last date". If you love to dance it just feels right to surround yourself with others who do as well!

I know what you mean about the good feeling when in sync with a partner. I do an awful lot of dancing and love it all, but two special dance partnerships are distant and treasured memories.
