I'm an honest, loyal and take nothing for granted type of person. I was happily married for 35 years. We each had our own interests, the reason for our successful marriage was that we had respect for those differences and allowed each other to maintain our individualities, at the same time being loyal and devoted to each other for all of our married lives.
I have been a workaholic all of my life, but now that I'm retired have to find new interests, and more than that I need someone at my side, to share that new life.
I can't say that I'm much of a traveler, but may take that into consideration as long as I don't have to drive. I'm sort of a kick back, watch TV, home cooked meals, I'm a meat and potatoes, nothing fancy, but wouldn't mind some one to show me up there. I like being pampered and going out for an evening to a nice elegant restaraunt for fine dinning and maybe a slow dance or two.
There's probably much I could add about myself, never really gave it much thought as to how to put it into words. I've always tried to be generous in any way I could with family and friends, to be a good listener and never, ever to butt in. I enjoy laughing and cutting up, am very harmonious, am not moody and hate confrontations. On the other hand, I'm very independant, strong willed in my beliefs but don't try to force my opinions on others. Live and let live.
I'm a conservative, a few of my best friends are liberal, but we don't discuss it with each other, just to keep it cool.
I'm not materialistic, but like to be comfortable with nice surroundings, and am very low maintencance, so far, being a senior, I think I'm in good health, anyway.
I'm an animal lover and have a few to prove it.
So I am what I am, there have been many chapters in my life, and those doors have closed, but not forgotten, I'm still going to go ahead and try to finish the book with a happy ending with, hopefully, a dear friend and companion at my side.
My Ideal Person:
I would like to meet someone who is funnier than me, some one I can laugh with and have good times with. I would like him to be outgoing and enjoys being around people. Someone who has a strong mind, creative, loving and gentle, and is a true gentleman. I don't want someone to walk behind me or walk ahead of me, I want to walk hand in hand.
