Hi,
If you're looking for a humorous and interesting woman, you've found her! My friends describe me as a Renaissance woman because I have many varied interests and passions. Before I retired, I worked as a foreign language teacher, medical editor, paralegal, court stenographer and musician. Please don't let my work history scare you, guys. I am down to earth at heart.
Music is my passion. As a musician, I was the rehearsal pianist and a chorus member in the New Jersey State Opera and in the Hudson Valley Opera for many years. I also made two CDs last year at a recording studio, singing and playing standard love songs on the piano. I sing and play love songs because I'm a romantic at heart. Among my favorite songs are "Autumn Leaves", "Memory" from "Cats", "My Heart Will Go On" and "I'm in the Mood for Love."
Check out my video. I even sing you a song on my video!
I'm a life-long learner and I'm educated, but a lot of formal education is less important to me than the ability to communicate intelligently in English, gentleness, compassion, kindness and HONESTY.
My friends describe me as warm, friendly, very humorous, and compassionate. I spend my free time singing, playing piano, going out to dinner with friends, listening to music, doing research on the Internet, volunteering at church, shopping, walking, going for drives in the country, writing poetry, and studying health issues.
I also just started a new handwriting analysis business on the Internet.
When I go out, I enjoy drives in the country, going out to dinner, attending concerts, and dancing. I'm a bit of a homebody, and I also enjoy quiet evenings at home with my mate.
I am fortunate to live on 23 acres in a rural area with breathtaking views.
I like people who are honest, broad-minded and nonjudgmental. I'm not especially fond of folks who lie about their nationality, or who post old pictures of themselves. I don't know why people even bother to post outdated pictures. Believe me, I can tell a lot from a photo. If I find out that a man posted an older photo or one which does not even remotely resemble the way he looks today, I won't even bother to go out with him because there probably won't be any chemistry. Let's face it, guys. Chemistry IS important, unless we're looking for a Platonic relationship!
I lost my husband seven months ago, and he was the love of my life and my best buddy. Being a widow at 63 is very hard. I will never be able to replace my husband, but I am hoping to find someone with whom I am compatible. Right now, I am looking for a man for friendship and possibly a serious relationship. My favorite saying is: Adversity makes us stronger.
My Ideal Person:
Are you really out there? I need a man who is kind, gentle, humorous and compassionate and who doesn't take himself too seriously. He should share some of my interests, but not necessarily all of them.
I would love to meet someone who enjoys taking drives in the country, going out to dinner, and listening to live or recorded music. Because I am recently widowed, I would like to take things slowly and see how they develop. Another reason I want to take things slowly is that I learned that, when people jump into intimate relationships too quickly, they sometimes live to regret it.
A mate who is literate and intellectually curious would be terrific. A prospective partner does not have to have the same level of education I have. In fact, an oil burner repairman who is self-educated and has a good command of English would be just fine for me. The ability to communicate well and honestly are more important to me than academic degrees.
Lastly, I need someone who is fairly easy-going, not too possessive, nonjudgmental and someone with whom I can be myself.
