My greatest accomplishments are my two children and five grand children. I am a very hands on grandmother and love spending time with all of them.I live in a small city in Kansas, but have had an on going love affair with Colorado my whole life. My favorite thing to do is hang out in Rocky Mountain National Park in the fall when the aspen are at peak and the elk are bugling. Everything in nature excites and intrigues me, and I try to pass it on to others. I love animals and have three dogs and one cat. I just had to put down my old German Short Hair and am still grieving. I usually am joyful and see the humor in things whether it is readily evident or not. I have a strong moral background, and once I learn to trust someone am extremely loyal. I have a fairly strong empathy quotient and have trouble picking sides, as I can usually see the truth in both sides. Love to drive and will use any excuse for a day trip. I am a voracious reader, mostly mysteries, and also try to stay up with what's going on in the world. I have a strong interest in natural ways of healing and taking responsibility for my health. Can get very passionate about the things I believe in strongly. My mother was from the south, so manners are very important to me. Generally prefer older movies to the more current crop, although the smaller independent studios still seem to make some worth seeing. I have been divorced for 17 years and he was the first serious relationship I had. I really haven't dated in all that time, as I was busy rearing children and being there for grandchildren. I have been really reluctant to try any dating, as I tend to be shy with people I don't know. That said, I decided to take a chance, as I would really like to find someone to share the high points and the low. I am very independant and would not be or like a clinging vine type of person.
My Ideal Person:
The person I'm looking for would be a gentleman with a strong moral code, but would also have to be compassionate and understanding. An animal/nature lover is an absolute must, and someone with a plethora of pets would be a plus. A good sense of humor and an ability to laugh at himself would be a necessity. I like spontaneous and outgoing people that enjoy life, but frankly also enjoy quiet, introspective people. Someone who loves music other than country, rap, and heavy metal(music?)especially the music of the 1920's through the 60's. Since I feel so strongly about family, I would like someone who feels the same way about their children/grandchildren if they have them. I have been independant for a long time so would need a person who likes their space also.
