First off, my name is Julieann.
I am currently living in Central California and I am here looking for seniors who need companionship or care in their homes. Or maybe you have family or a friend in need.
I am honest to the bone. Intelligent, conservative, loving, kind, gentle. I do not smoke and drink only once or twice a year at social events and even then, in moderation.
I like to play games, scrabble, Yahtzee, rummy, etc... Not a huge t.v. person but will understand if you are. Although I honest to goodness absolutely LOVE sports on tv. Don't know why and I am not saying I am a whiz at it. But I love football, baseball Yay SF Giants, I have a blast at the actual games, nascar (big Dale Jr. fan) some basketball Go Celtics!! Some local hockey. I love to read, dine out, travel and then travel some more if I could. I have a trip to Europe planned for November of 2009. I enjoy plays and opera's. Or we can just hang out at home and watch TV if that is what you like to do most.
I can cook and bake fairly well. LOL Some things turn out blue ribbon tasty, some not quite, LOL. I try though. I do light housekeeping and laundry, errands, grocery shopping etc...
If you have medical issues such as a bad back or actually just about anything physically or mental (such as forgetfulness due to age or something else) I will work with you and your physicians to insure you receive the best care possible. I have been a Companion and or Caregiver for many people over the last 24 years.
My best friends in life have always been seniors and I am so used to having them in my life, that I feel incomplete and bereft without them. Even though this is my job, it just doesn't feel like work to me. How lucky am I to get earn a living doing something I love so much? Some of my clients or patients, whichever the case may be, like to stay home which is fine with me since I really am a homebody at heart and some like to go go go like my last friend.
Some of my clients are just regular retirees that are lonesome for great company they can rely on. That would be me! My number 1 goal is to make YOU happy!!
I have been trained as a Certified Nurse Assistant and a Home Health Aide. I am on a Caregiver's Referral list that requires background checks, fingerprinting and verification of all claims before they will allow you on their referral list.
I help with medications if needed as well as ROM (range of motion) exercises to strengthen weakened areas in your body. I do massage and heat therapy as well.
I seem to be particularly helpful when there has been a recent loss of a wife or other loved one. It helps to have a friend get you over that intense time. My last friend lost a wife of almost 60 years almost overnight. Horrible blow to him. I had him enjoying life again sooner than you would have expected. I refused to let him stay down forever even though of course it took time to come to grips with his loss.
