My Ideal Person:
There are certain characteristics about myself I value greatly and I look for those in a person I date. Those would be:
religious faith (not in the wacko, conservative sense, I'm a Presbyterian, we do things "decently and in order" )
appreciation of family without going overboard smothering them.
occasionally wanting some individual space for myself (a night out with the girls sometimes).
an appreciation of some culture: ballet, symphonies, the theater, the Met (I've never been there!!) You don't have to like all of those but if you're a Tractor Pull, Hells Angels, Nascar or WWWrestling kind of guy, I'm probably not the right gal for you. However, I love movies, eating out, shopping and some other normal things!
Since I'm a little intense and occasionally lose perspective, I enjoy being around a mate that is more laid back than I am and uses humor to remind me what's really important in life!
I don't like to rush into important decisions but at the same time it's nice to be reminded by someone I trust not to fear making changes when I have done my homework and it's time to take action.
I would like to take some classes on things that interest me in the future and I would want to be supported in that by my mate.
The most important thing I'm looking for is a kind person who isn't afraid to be a good communicator and listener when there are issues between us that need to be resolved. I have been working on improving those characteristics in myself and know that's an ongoing process!
I love children but don't plan to have any more of my own. I would pay for some grandchildren though!
