I myself am a big-hearted, warm person... creative, intelligent, and flexible. Generous in spirit and manner. A little nerdy. A little adventurous (and trying to become more so…). Playful and a bit quirky.. Open to many possibilities, new experiences, and always learning. I value differences as well as commonalities...am not looking for a clone of myself! I can be a little shy at first, but warm up pretty quickly. I may not be anyone’s idea of arm-candy, but I am very sweet to those are open-hearted and open-minded.
I am kind of an old-school lesbian feminist who came of age in the 80's in the context of women's music and feminist activism. In some ways, that is still at the core of who I am. I am unconventional in appearance... pretty androgynous on the butch side of center. But I don't place a lot of stock in butch/femme roles or stereotypes. I can be cute and sexy in a big-ol’-dyke kinda way… *(-;
I enjoy women who are creative in any medium or modality... creative processes fascinate me. I appreciate beauty in many forms, especially the unexpected ones... and seek those who place more value in substance than surface. I find I'm drawn to women who flaunt their uniqueness and quirky qualities, who have the guts to be themselves in a conformist world. Most of my favorite people in the world are those who are/were nerds. In relationship, mutual attention and affection are important to me, as well as honesty (of course). I don't expect perfection by any means. Most relationships of value are not instantly easy. But I do expect willingness to explore, persistent hopefulness, open communication and mutual respect.
I am in the midst of the gradual break up of a long-term relationship. I expect that to be an ongoing factor in my life for a while. I am not seeking to replace that relationship right away. But I am looking to meet women outside of my current social circle (of mostly couples) for friendship, dating, companionship, mutual enjoyment and support, and intimacy if the chemistry is right. I cannot claim to be completely "baggage free"... and truly, I think that most people who make that claim are kidding themselves... but I do have pretty good boundaries, and don't need to dump my stuff all over you!
