For the last 14 years I've done extensive travel in Africa (covering 20 countries overland). My passion has been safari, tent camping to track lion and rhino on foot for photos, and canoeing a 200-mile stretch of the Zambezi River. Highlights include climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, hunting with the Mbuti Pygmies in the Ituri Forest, having a sliverback mountain gorilla clamber over me, crossing the Sahara Desert, lions hunting during the Great Migration, Zanzibar, exploring the waterways of the Okavango Delta, dancing under the midnight stars with the Dogon People of Mali, charging elephants, hippos, rhinos......
My current interest is Egypt, exploring far afield and studying Arabic. In Egypt I've been fortunate enough to do things even Egyptologists dream of: attending private government digs, accessing the world famous Chicago House, tracking down the "secret cache site" for the greatest Pharaohs in history, and exploring tombs, temples and pyramids. I had an unexplained 'mystical' experience at the Temple of Ptah at Karnak. And ride their Arabian stallions - the Ferrari's of the desert.
I plan further travels to the South Pacific/Australia. I read philosophy, biographies, and historical novels; enjoy movies, writing, and theater.
I'm retired from a career as Vice President of Marketing/Advertising with some of the largest companies in the US, began competitive swimming at the age of 6 and every week swim 5 miles, bike 15 miles, walk 5 miles, and sauna/jacuzzi regularly. Volunteer work is a means for me to give back for everything I've been blessed with over the years. I'm easy going and love to laugh.
I believe there are different kinds of love. The greatest transform us. I believe the purpose of life is to evolve as loving, soulful beings. I believe in a life lived in consciousness and with intent. A relationship isn't the end of adventure, it's the beginning.
My Ideal Person:
I'd like to meet a good man with conventional values.
I like meeting new people and finding a good friend would be wonderful. I'm also open to establishing a loving, long-term relationship. Personal qualities I look for are being authentic, honorable, someone who has reflected on and learned from life, warm and expressive, accomplished (in whatever career, field of interest, or talent), like to travel, fit, and sexy in body and mind.
It would be nice to meet a man who could bring new interests into my life ... maybe cooking, fishing,......I'm open to the possibilities. And of course lots of quiet time in front of the fire with good food, drink, in each others arms....
