I love to laugh, am friendly, slender, young for my age. I'm semi retired, single and ready to find friends who enjoy travel and many other activities. I'm well educated but not stuffy, love a good book. Not much into TV.
I'm always exploring new outlets for my creative passions. I've written and published many articles. I'm a very amateur photographer and like to explore what a camera can show me about the world. I love color and the flow and substance of good design, whether it's art and sculpture, fashion, architecture and landscapes, antiques, or technical/industrial. I appreciate classic cars, and enjoy my 82 Corvette for its look as well as for the ride.
Music is one of my passions. Like many of us in the 60's I played guitar and was somewhat immersed in the folk/rock music world. I still have three guitars - an old Gibson steel string, a Gibson electric Flying V, and a Yamaha 12-string. Maybe someday, in the right setting, I'd re-learn to play them.
Politically I'm a liberal, leaning quite a bit to the left. I'm not religious though I consider myself to be spiritual. I enjoy discussions on politics and spirituality, but do not like to argue about them. I respect your opinions, and hope you'll respect mine.
I collect antique toys and doll things. I love fashion though I usually dress in jeans or skirts. I maintain myself very well, and am not looking for someone to support me.
Healthy living has served me well and is therefore important. Healthy simple food creatively prepared, life-affirming exercise, and a supportive network of friends and family make growing older a time of joy and great satisfaction. My grandchildren, though entirely their own selves, are the loves of my life.
My Ideal Person:
You are probably a liberal too, both politically and in the way you live life. You are conscious of our impact on the environment and are happy to live green. Creativity is a big plus - if you're active in the arts or music or writing or architecture or design we'll get along just fine. You are a respecter of diversity, and enjoy exploring many different cultures. You'll see wrinkles as character lines in women as well as men. You are reasonably fit healthwise and financially secure enough to maintain yourself. I will continue to make my own financial decisions, as you will yours. I am able (and very content) to live well within my means.
I hope to make friends among SFF women members too, to share interests and activities. We have a lot to tell to and learn from each other.
I love the southwestern US and hope to relocate there soon. Or at least spend winters there. I will be visiting the Southwest periodically, looking for a small town that fits my needs for community.
