I'm one of those 'liberal do-gooders' ... looking for a fellow who has his own set of things he cares about and works for. There's nothing more fun for me than 'comparing notes' and sharing encouragement. I work full-time & then some, but because I'm self-employed, my schedule is flexible.
I'm a professional writer (tho you can't tell by this hastily-thrown-together introduction) & I also founded a tiny not-for-profit org that advocates for trauma survivors..I've published an internationally-distributed newsletter in this field for the last 20 yrs, but I'm just learning the non-profit ropes, & there is a LOT to learn! & just in case you're thinking 'Hmmm - self-employed = rich' ... Not so.
Aside from work, I love to cook & gather a bunch of interesting people together for wide-ranging conversation. Almost everything in the arts/music/culture world is up my alley, including lectures on topics of current interest, & politics (be forewarned, I'm becoming more of an active progressive these days...)
I almost never watch TV, but I'm on the computer many hours each week, & also squeeze in time for reading. I would LOVE to go fishing, but in 20+ yrs as a Cinti resident, I still haven't found someone to go fishing with. I enjoy traveling, esp by car to see the countryside up close & identify the wildflowers along the way.
I'm a good listener, a considerate friend, & I really enjoy learning about the lives & experiences of others. So if any of this is appealing to you, let's talk it over.
My Ideal Person:
I'm looking for a bright, articulate man, well-educated either via university or extensive autodidact methods. My most-compatible partners in the past have been science/technology types, but I'm interested in just about everything...although I do prefer a person who enjoys much of what he's doing..."Work" is not a four-letter word to me, though I crave balance as much as the next gal.
Politically left-of-center is a plus.
I'm not interested in any fundamentalist or extreme religiousity of any kind. And NO (that's ZER multiple-partner sex.
Wide-ranging interests and a sense of social responsibility are big plusses for me. & I take for granted that men who contact me will be honest, kind, and decent human beings. If you don't fit that short list, please look elsewhere for your fun.
As a matter of mutual convenience, I prefer to meet men in/around Cincinnati, though exceptions can be made for exceptional people.
