My friends know me as a caring optimist who smiles a lot! I enjoy life with all its beautiful facets and have the gift of physical stamina to outdo my 26 year old daughter. My photos are current though I'm not really photogenic and unfortunately inherited my Mom's round face.
I am a recently retired computing manager at the U of A. I just finished consulting there and now tele-commute with a brand new company out of LA which helps keep me on a reasonable schedule (and gets me extra travel money) though I find myself busier than ever with non-work things. I've always been a hard-worker but love to take time too to smell ALL the flowers. I wake every morning to the joy of all that I can and want to do. It's almost like being a kid again. Now I can really do things spontaneously or passionately devote hours and hours to the organization of things that give back to the community both locally and nationally, especially helping folks reach a healthy lifestyle. Retirement also affords me time to do some family business management. And when I can spontaneously help someone with even a little errand the look I receive from them is truly priceless. So I have the best of many worlds in my life now! I retired to do more, NOT less!!
My Ideal Person:
Enough of the bio-demo stuff! I love times of quiet conversation, cuddling, laughter, movies shared, eating out, cooking together, putzing around the house and yard, plays, concerts, travel, long walks, doing kooky spontaneous things, family togetherness and just spending quality time with someone special. Just look outside, the world is beautiful - let's share it! So I really am seeking companionship, romance and lots of tenderness. I touch often and like to be touched in return. And I can’t imagine life without books. Have eclectic bookcases in every room; from The Iliad and The Prophet to John J Nance and Janet Evanovich.
Honesty, respect and unconditional caring are critical to me in a relationship. I am a widow and was married to my best friend who was a very affectionate romantic. If it became long term I wouldn't want less in a new relationship. I will always love my husband for the ways he challenged me and how our time together molded who I am today but that relationship is just that, in my long ago past. Time to add even more things to the molding process. Family is very important to me - hoping someday soon to have some grands. The sweetest sound I know is a toddler giggling.
Fun things can be unusual things too. I spent eight years owning hot-air balloons and piloting them on weekends. What a rush!! Then I moved on to follow my daughter as an English horse show Mom. As long as it's safe I'll try most activities at least once. I just don't like to waste any time in recovery from injuries. Flowers, dark chocolate, smiles, warm touches and dress-up occasions are all my favorites though just a single salmon colored rose presented with sincerity and a loving smile can take my breath away.
Favorite television shows:
