California Girl, Child of the Sixties, College Grad, Political Activist, Spiritual Seeker. I still love to listen to the Beatles and dance to the Stones. Checking “recently played” on my iPod revealed Lily Allen, Arcade Fire, Bjork, Charlie Parker, Jason Mraz, Joshua Bell, Les Paul, Neko Case, U2 and Yo-Yo Ma. Most recent concerts / events attended: Hapa, Joan Baez, Paul Simon, Spamalot, Mozart’s Magic Flute, and His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Most recent outdoor adventure: Backpacking (Kiwis call it ‘trekking’) the awesome Routeburn Track in New Zealand where I was blown off a mountain ledge during a fierce rainstorm and lived to tell about it. Life has tasted all the more sweet since then and I cherish every sunrise – (I mean sunset – I’m not really a morning person).
I’ve lived most of my life on or near the ocean in beautiful places like Malibu, Vancouver, and Kaua’i. Now I find myself high in the Rockies marveling at the incredible cloud formations that sail the local skies. My scuba gear is gathering cobwebs but my snowshoes have been racking up frequent flyer miles.
I really enjoy the perks of city life – love to visit NYC for an occasional hit of art museums and off-Broadway theatre – but for home life I prefer the coziness of a peaceful sanctuary surrounded by the beauty and music of nature.
I retired from a career in television and film production and am now a self-employed teacher and consultant. As a movie buff, attending the Telluride Film Festival is one of the regular highlights of my year. I'm an avid nature photographer with a penchant for wild African safaris and cruising in hot air balloons. I’m partial to warm weather and tropical climates, although I would like to see Antarctica before it melts.
My Ideal Person:
I look forward to meeting and getting to know a good-hearted Rocky Mountain man (wherevere he's from). He's educated, articulate, witty, good-natured, playful, and politically progressive, with an honest face and a killer sense of humor. He's happy hanging out at home, enjoying a good book, film, or conversation, and is also up for fun and adventure. He has his own creative interests and nurtures a rich inner life. Sometimes he even believes the best is yet to come.
