My life took an interesting turn a few years back. I am an artist and a single mom, and I wanted to find something that I would enjoy doing that would earn a decent income while still allowing me parenting time and time in the studio. This seemed an impossible dream until the day I saw a full-page advertisement titled "Alpacas, the Huggable Investment". We now live on a farm with a herd of 50 to 60 show-quality alpacas. What an adventure and what fun!
My son is 19 and mostly away at college these days. I also have a new 14 year old daughter who I am in the process of adopting through Connecticut's foster-care system. We all love the outdoors and are very active in outdoor sports such as swimming, kayaking, hiking, skiing, skating, etc. We are fortunate enough to have a little place up in Vermont and one on the ocean, so that we can take unplanned vacations whenever we have the time.
Other interests include music (most any style except rap), theater, dance, dining out, stimulating conversation, time with good friends, and, of course, good books. I am an avid reader and consume several books a week.
I had a WASP, private schools, Social Register upbringing, then turned into a 60's hippie traveling folk singer, then a New York City artist and finally ended up living here in the country where I am most comfortable. I love visiting the city to see museums and shows, but no longer want to live there.
I am extremely kind and empathic, a good listener, patient, flexible and understanding. I am not good with conflict and tend to avoid it, looking for solutions instead.
My Ideal Person:
