I'm a patient, calm, fun-loving person who enjoys and supports the arts. I have more degrees than most people (Ph.D.), but I don't think that necessarily makes me any better or smarter than anybody else. I love the fact that it allows me to help students reach their educational and career goals. I've always stood up against injustices both in the workplace and in the world. I've had that passion since I was a very small child. This led me to become active in the Episcopal Church--the church of our forefathers--writers of the Constitution. It's a church with strong social beliefs about inclusiveness (e.g., female Bishop of National Church, gay Bishop of New Hampshire). I'm also interested in other cultures. I lived in Japan for 5 years and worked. I've traveled in US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Korea. I love political satire and parody like the Jon Stewart Show and the Colber(t) Repor(t) on the Comedy Channel (10-11). I try to dream as though there is no tomorrow and live as though this is the last day of my life.
My Ideal Person:
I'm looking for someone who can accept me for who I am--aren't we all? I need someone who can be supportive when I am feeling less than good about myself and my successes (or lack thereof). I'd like to find someone with whom I could have an intellectual rapport--to discuss news, movies, politics, business. I tend to fall left of center politically, but can be happy talking with someone of any persuasion as long as they don't go ballistic--and keep a sense of humor. I like a man who is affectionate at home and occasionally in public. Trustworthiness is very important to me. Infidelity is unforgiveable--a total deal breaker.
