Looking For:
Men for friendship, a serious relationship or marriage

Tall, intelligent, attractive, slim artist/herbalist with eclectic tastes but traditional values seeking an intelligent attractive man with character and humor. I can contact members who send email since I'm not a full member. I'm interested in men who've experienced the same time frame that formed my sensibilities about the world, especially growing up in the Viet Nam era, and am not interested in married men or purely physical relationships as have been offered. I have been a draftsman, a tech illustrator, have always loved the wild plants (not to besmirch the lovely tomatoes and cukes growing in my garden), and have recently resigned from a non-profit as envrironmental teacher in workshops and after school programs around the Providence area. I now look after my elderly dad, but I still forage wild plants in the rain and can come home and jump into a dress to go out to dinner with you. Jazz, blues, and classical music are favorites, but supporting the alternative bands of my college daughter's friends is fine too (once in a while!) while attending shows at the artspace where my son lives is a pleasure. Rather than support dogma of any one religion, I find spirituality in nature and actually encourage weeds like dandelions to grow around the edges of my yard (they find their way into my culinary art). The last books I've read are: Color, a Natural History of the Palette; The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan; Mythago Wood by Robert Holdstock. I recently bought 2 kayaks so that friends and I can explore the lake across the street as well as possibly include accidental wild edibles for dinner (like the blueberries found in overhanging branches). My preference is to live near an ocean/lake and live on acreage large enough for both woods and garden, like I do now. Friends are an important part of the equation, but the most important part is my companion- a man who shares some of my interests but has his own, is my friend as well as lover, and knows that the richest ingredient for both the palette and palate is humor sprinkled through everything. (Photos taken in August, September, October 2008, and September, 2009.)
My Ideal Person:
Unique is an overused word...l'll just say I'm looking for someone who has both a sense of who and what he's looking for too. Life experience and education has prepared you to feel comfortable in any situation. You are flexible in talking to either a celebrity or a homeless person because you see the common denominator. You enjoy the arts but can hold your own around a campfire. You know you look damn good in that suit, but like toasting marshmallows on a stick (even though you don't like them). You remember catching fireflies in a jar (before letting them go). You're willing to test my wildfood dinners, and then hop over to enjoy dessert at Cafe Nuovo. You're articulate and would enjoy talking about anything with me, your captivated "partner in crime".
