I have given much thought to amending my profile. The decision was a difficult one for me because the profile online now is true to myself as a person but one of the web-sites noted that it is too good to be true- I guess. Well I suppose all I really want to say is that my photos accurately portray me. I am not your average “slim” individual that some gentlemen are desirous of. No, life has not been as gentle with my body as I would like it to have been and after numerous children and an equal amount of miscarriages I have put on a few pounds. Having spent the bulk of my life as a very thin individual it is difficult for me to accept this as my fate. I am working on changing my appearance but I do not want to be behind a screen while doing so.

There is a lot that I have to give and after being alone now for over 2 ½ years I am ready to move on! If there is anyone out there who is willing to overlook a few extra pounds I am more than happy to meet and see if we “click”.

The following is my original profile -

Although I'm considered a senior as far as Perkins is concerned I don't really feel old. I prefer to think of myself as more of just "Young at Heart".

Throughout life one finds their identity is defined by who they are with. As with any relationship it can be a good thing. Then, all of a sudden that identity may be taken away for one reason or another. In my case I went from having my very own identity to being Mike’s wife for the past 29 years. I was happy with that identification and it brought me great pleasure in knowing that everyone knew who I was.

Tragically, on February 1st, 2006 Michael was killed in a car accident. I am now trying to find myself again which is why I find myself looking to the past and trying to reach out to those who knew me when.

It’s a long arduous process this finding one’s self. I’m enjoying it but yet fearing it as well.

There was a time when I was a fearless outgoing being full of energy. I would love to find that person again but alas, I’m no longer young and too out of shape to be full of energy.

I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to find a part of my past that will perhaps be able to bring me full circle. It’s too early still to be thinking of that now though. One day at a time!

On a lighter note- I am fun loving- usually outgoing, social etc. My life is consumed by my children and their endeavors.

Would love to meet someone who is in a similar circumstance.
