I am honest, compassionate and optimistic. I have been told that I have a nice smile, and I smile and laugh often. Life is too short to be crabby and pessimistic. I love watching comedies and stand-up comedians, reading all kinds of books, walking in the woods, laughing with a good friend. I love mellow jazz, classical, blues, and "old school" R & B music. Travel is a passion of mine and I'd love to do lots of traveling with someone special. I’ve recently started to learn ballroom dancing. I’m not very proficient, but I surely do love it. My political views tend to be left-of-center, although I am more conservative regarding educational and family issues. Racial tolerance is very important to me and I detest bigots. I live in a suburban area that is more rural than suburban and I love to experience nature, especially during the fall (my favorite season of the year).

I'm looking for an honest, friendly, humorous, considerate, and romantic man for a dating or long-term relationship. No uptight, controlling, self-centered men, please. I would love to meet someone who enjoys traveling, laughing, and having long, stimulating conversations. Someone who is comfortable with both spontaneous activities and well-planned surprises. Race is unimportant; physical characteristics aren't as important to me as personality and character.
