I'm a writer with a few books in print, hoping to publish more. I also do a bit of "book doctoring" for other writers as a business. I enjoy reading, old movies, classical music, Pink Floyd, plays, concerts, gardening, ghost hunting, visiting historic sites and buildings, travel, photography, flea markets, antique shops, Native American studies, genealogy, Internet research, email with distant friends, and spirituality studies. People fascinate me and are a source for character development in my books. Long conversations are a favorite way to invest time with others. I savor good company and appreciate the unique viewpoints men bring to discussions. Though I'm not athletic, I exercise to stave off joint pain; encouragement in healthy living efforts could benefit us both. Trust and respect are the necessary foundation for my relationships; quality rates far higher than quantity in friendships for me. Though I'm neither saintly nor conventionally religious, I enjoy spiritual discussions and believe in giving back through volunteer work. I hope I never lose the urge to learn and the capacity to observe with the wondering eyes of a child. Still, I can be trifling at times, ready to lounge in a comfortable spot and talk or read with my favorite man while everything that should be done waits.
My Ideal Person:
As an author, I'd enjoy having another creative person as a friend and close companion. Getting deeply acquainted with a guy requires openness and interest in self-knowledge. If a man bargains over who gets to read our new book first, if he makes me laugh, he's a keeper. Men with a touch of rascal within the cultured gentleman are a delight. While casual style appeals to me most of the time, a man in a dark suit stirs me, especially if he also has silver hair. I've never cared as much about looks as personality and brains; I appreciate a man who recognizes inner qualities as well. Positive attitudes appeal to me. While I enjoy gentlemanly manners, I expect to give as well as get in my relationships. I'm hardly a clinging vine, but I appreciate having a man in my life for mutual support. Getting to know each other can be a joy, and true friendship takes time to grow. If you like to talk AND listen, I make good coffee.
