I'm a retired single lady living in a rural small town in southern Oregon, having relocated from Miami FL 5 years ago. Oregon in the country is different from Florida in the city; people are very friendly but I have not been able to make any new friends. Maybe it's the distance from home to anywhere else and I don't make the effort to participate in group activities.
Oregon winters are 6-months long, bleak and cold, so then my main entertainment is visiting SFF and contributing to the Magazine and Blogs. When the weather is nice I head out to Grants Pass for the fitness center - indoor pool - and afterwards to walk around downtown. A nice day is dry pavement and a blue sky!

My participation on the SFF site has been rewarding to me by its interaction through the Magazine and Blogs. There are so many interesting people communicating with each other, it gives me an opportunity to maintain my own writing and reading skills with the opportunity to expand my horizons.
I was considering relocation to a warmer climate but my FSBO was a flop so I'll be staying in s/Oregon until the real estate market improves, stocking up on madrone for the wood stove, and looking forward to SPRING !!!
